Ford Old Hall Barn is the ultimate rural retreat. It is idyllically located overlooking the orchard, and we get the most dramatic sunsets, delightful dark skies and magical starry nights. Simply perfect for family holidays or a place for friends to reconnect and spend some quality time together.
Ford Old Hall is a Grade II listed building which dates back to the 1500s. The Barn itself is a 21st century conversion – providing luxurious holiday accommodation of the highest standard throughout. With all modern facilities which continue outside to the wraparound patio and a fabulous private covered porch for the west-facing hot tub that you can enjoy all year round. What better way to relax after a day of long walks and exploring the National Park?
Inside you’ll find everything you’ll need to enjoy your time here. It is fully-equipped with the best of facilities, including underfloor heating throughout. You enter Ford Old Hall Barn to the utility and boot room, it has a washer, dryer, sink and heated towel rail. So you can dry out your coats and jackets when you return from your day of adventures.
The two bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms are also on the ground floor. All the beds have heavenly deep mattress toppers and a choice of pillows. They’ll be made up with quality white cotton bed linen, all ready for your arrival. We really do our best to help you enjoy a good night’s sleep whilst you’re here.
The super king-size master bedroom has a fully tiled wet room with a rain shower. This bedroom also leads straight out to the hot tub in the covered patio area. The twin room en-suite has a bath with rain shower over, this bathroom can also be accessed via the downstairs hallway. Fluffy towels are supplied and there’s a constant supply of hot water and underfloor heating throughout the barn.
You’ll find additional towels & bathrobes for use with the hot tub in the wardrobe next to the under stairs storage. We are happy to change your towels on request mid stay if you are with us for a week or more.
Stairs from outside the utility and boot room lead to an airy open plan living area with oak flooring, high ceilings and feature beams. The fully-fitted oak kitchen has granite worktops and a breakfast bar. Somewhere to enjoy a quick snack or keep the cook in the group company whilst they rustle up a feast. There are two fridges, a microwave, Britannia oven with 6 gas burners and multi-functional, double electric ovens if you choose to dine in. Plus a dishwasher to save you the washing up.
The dining area has a table and chairs to comfortably seats four guests. Then at the other end is the cosy lounge area. With two large, comfy sofas (made by Alstons) there’s room for everyone to snuggle up in front of the free-standing modern log burner. You could watch a movie on the Freeview TV in the evenings. Or maybe listen to some tunes on the Bose speaker as you chill and make plans for the next day. That’s if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful views from the hot tub!
